About Cross Connect

OUR PURPOSE

Cross Connect seeks to provide a thoroughgoing Christian resource for the Church in the form of,

“a testimony to Jesus”.

His vicarious humanity is the very foundation of the Church.

The material on this site can best be described as, “prophetic” and is anchored by the theological work of Rev.Dr.John Yates (John). It also contains contributions from several other authors in various forms.

Cross Connect is a completely free resource for the Church, bringing together sound, prophetic, biblical teaching and preaching, personal testimony and devotional material, as well as practical study tools.

We pray you will be blessed in your seeking Jesus !

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”

Matthew 7:7

A Vision of the Cross

At the heart of Cross Connect is an image first drawn spontaneously by John in a time of reflection and prayer. It represents the central message and theological identity of the ministry.

Light enters from the left as the single, monochrome holiness of God. It passes through the prism - the humanity of Christ - and exits as the full spectrum of the manifold glory and wisdom of God.

The four points on the prism represent where Christ bled: His head, hands, feet, and side.

The movement of light through the prism represents participation. Through transparent lives, the Church is called to participate and reveal the rich variety of God’s wisdom, in love, to the world.

A PERSONAL NOTE

I have been a fellow traveller with John over quite a few years now. In that time, I have had the privilege of journeying to encourage the church in Myanmar with him and others. Along the way, there have been both painful and joyful experiences. The prophetic teaching over the years has been deeply transforming.

One evening we were out for dinner with a sister of a local pastor. She shared this testimony: “The first and the second time you came to Myanmar, I sat and listened to you teach, but I could not understand what you were saying. But the third time, something happened in my heart and I could understand and receive the revelation from the Lord.”

I would imagine the material on this site is unlike anything you have encountered. It is not conventional. It is not academic or emotionally charged; it is neither philosophical nor esoteric. It is “prophetic” in the forthtelling sense. For this reason, you will need to unlearn old ways of receiving and learn the new. This is what it means to be apprehended by, rather than simply to comprehended the material. This will be painful, since it necessarily involves the cross and the glory of the new Creation. But be encouraged, God will open up the vista of his love for you in Jesus Christ, just as he has determined and promised to do. Jesus, the one who is in the very heart of the Father (Jn 1:18) by his eternal Spirit, shall reveal the deep things of God. These are unspeakably joyful things, but incomprehensible to the natural mind —even foolish (1 Cor 1:18, 2:14). For God has hidden his kingdom from the wise and understanding and revealed it to babes (Matt 11:25) so fix your eyes on Jesus (Heb12:2)!

Many people may know the verse, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him,” believing these things to be for tomorrow. But the following verse reads, “These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10).

May God the Father be pleased to bless you today as you seek his face through his Son and in the power of his Holy Spirit.
